WINTER SWIMMING LESSONS cover

Our BlueFit Swimming programs run year-round, including the winter season. We understand that staying motivated in winter can be harder, but we’re here to help! Here are a few reasons why we recommend that you continue your winter swimming lessons:

1. Heated pools

Did you know that most of our pools are heated? Generally, they will sit between 29 to 32ºc and keep our students warm throughout their lessons.

2. Maintain progression and learn new skills.

Most people learn best through continual practice and when we implement repetition into our routine skills will develop and become automatic.

Taking a child out of lessons for three to four months may impact their technique and delay their swimming progression. More importantly, students may forget crucial swimming safety information!

3. Get ready for summer

Time flies when you’re having fun! Before you know it, it’ll be summer again. Winter lessons are designed to assist students in preparing for the upcoming summer season. Students will have improved water safety knowledge by learning water safety skills and becoming more familiar with aquatic environments.

The following are a few tips to help our students keep warm this winter:

  • Wear a swimming cap.
  • Opt for swimwear with increased coverage, like a swim shirt, for your lessons.
  • Ensure you have a dry towel prepared to use after your lesson.
  • Dry off promptly after your lesson.
  • Dress in warm attire and appropriate footwear when travelling to and from your lesson.
  • Utilise our comfortable warm showers.
  • Treat yourself to a warm beverage from the cafe.
