MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: William At Bayfit, Beating The Winter Blues cover

As the winter chill sets in and motivation dips for many, BayFit member William is proof that consistency is key, no matter the season. A familiar face in our gym, William has been training with us for the past two years, keeping himself football fit and committed to his training routine.

A Routine That Works

Training 4–5 times a week, William’s goal is simple:
“Stay fit year-round, keep the cardio going, and maintain a good physique for football.”

This year round commitment is what sets him apart, especially through the colder months when it’s easy to stay home. His secret to sticking with it?
“Pick a time of the day and go at the same time every day. Once you build a routine, you’ll start building progress in the long term.”

Milestones and Motivation

William’s hard work recently paid off with a major achievement: hitting a 100kg barbell bench press.
“That was a massive milestone for me,” he says proudly.

Like many of us, William has his training preferences:

  • Favourite day: Chest day – “because it’s the easiest” (though he admits back day is a close second)
  • Least favourite: Leg day – no surprises there!

William’s Advice for Winter Training

Whether you’re just starting out or finding it hard to keep moving in winter, William’s approach is simple:

  • Build a habit – schedule your workouts consistently
  • Stick with it – progress comes from routine
  • Don’t let the season slow you down – cold weather is no excuse!

Take a page out of William’s book this winter: keep showing up, stay consistent, and watch the results follow.

Thank you, William for sharing your story and being such a valued part of the BayFit community!
